Things to Do in Salt Lake City: July

By Lyndsey Kocher, About.com

This summer is proving to be the year of the "Stay-cation" as gas prices continue to climb. If you are planning a "Stay-cation" in Salt Lake City, there's plenty of reasons to stay home and vacation in your own backyard.

July is a busy month crowded with events. The Fourth of July fireworks and the Days of '47, celebrating Utah's pioneer heritage are two of the biggest celebrations in July.

Salt Lake City Event Calendar for July

As always, if you or your organization has an event that you would like to see listed here, please e-mail me at saltlakecity@about.com. All events are subject to change without notice and the prices may change. Please check the organization's website for up-to-date information on all activities.

The Fourth of July in Salt Lake City

As you plan your festivities for the Fourth of July, please remember Salt Lake City firework restrictions. Play safe and be prepared. Consider watering your lawns before fireworks are lit, have a bucket of water or sand nearby to put out stray sparks and light only those fireworks that are approved. Otherwise, strict fines may result and you will be responsible for any damages.
